With the beginning of March the rain came and the females were ” unblocked“, we noticed a laborious coming and going of breeding females intent on nest building and thanks also to the courtships of the males the reproductive phase has finally begun. We finished the administration of the supplement“Reproduction” of the Turdus Specialist line and switched to the supplement“Weaning” of the same line of course always with the help of Artificial insect, at the same time the administration of cooked and frozen insects has begun, this allows us to increase the protein value of the diet, giving the perception to our birds that they can reproduce and accustoming them to the consumption of cooked insects.
Now all we have to do is to continue with the feeding protocol, observe the behaviors of the spawners carefully at all times, and hope that the weather conditions are favorable for this very important and “delicate” stage.
