We have long since entered the depths of winter<\/strong>, the days are cold<\/strong>, and the calorie <\/strong>consumption of breeding stock is constantly changing according to the temperatures<\/strong> as well; we can notice this because they tend to feed more.<\/strong> This need is due to the increased demand for carbohydrates and sugars<\/strong>, which help the complex physiological mechanism of ‘ homeothermia, or the process of regulating body temperature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fruit is indispensable<\/strong> for turdids therefore it should always be given even if in rational quantities. Turdids in nature<\/strong> in the cold season find mainly fruit ( berries, ivy, rowan, arbutus<\/strong>, etc.) and therefore fruit (preferably in season) should not be missing from our aviaries. Fruit has several properties including regularizing intestinal functions and restoring acid-base balance<\/strong>, increasing the alkaline reserve of the blood and detoxification of the body<\/strong>. Fruit is composed mainly of water (83 to 90 percent), with low percentages of protein and fat, good amount of carbohydrates <\/strong>(8 to 17 percent), several minerals<\/strong>( such as potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus) and vitamins C, A, PP, B. Fruit must come from environmentally friendly cultivation<\/strong> and possibly not <\/strong>have undergone too many chemical treatments<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
